Hello! We are the founders of Minttu, and we are driven by a grand mission: to make xylitol mints popular in Spain and Europe.
With Minttu, we have created a tasty, affordable, attractive and handy product based on xylitol, which has been extensively studied for its effect on oral health.
After years of eating xylitol sweets while living in the UK and realising there was a lack of high-quality xylitol products in Spain, we decided to launch Minttu in the summer of 2025.
Why did we create Minttu?
We want to empower you to take control of your oral health through the simple and enjoyable habit of eating Minttu every day.
We like to take charge of our own health, without relying solely on experts or professionals.
Firstly, because it isn’t their responsibility. Our health is our responsibility! Secondly, because daily habits are crucial to our health, and experts cannot directly influence our daily lives.
Our approach is based on education. Not only do we create tasty, attractive and healthy sweets, but through our blog and posts we also educate you about oral health and how your habits and choices affect it.
That’s why we created Minttu mints, which complement professional care to improve your oral health.
The Story of Minttu
We moved to Spain at the end of 2024, and upon our arrival we realised that there were few options to buy xylitol mints in the country, and that those available didn’t measure up to products from the US and UK.
This came as a shock to us. For a while we found it difficult to keep up our daily habit of eating xylitol mints and had to resort to ordering them online from overseas for six months.
Tired of buying xylitol mints online, we decided to look into it further.
Shortly afterwards, Inés popped into her local health food shop to ask if they sold xylitol mints. The owner replied no, complaining that she’d looked everywhere for them but hadn’t been able to find any.
That was when the entrepreneurs in us lit up. In July 2025, we got to work and… the rest is history.
